Roadmaster Smart Diode Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights Installation - 2022

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster Smart Diode for incandescent light bulbs on a 2022 Ford F-150. There's gonna be five main components required when flat towing the vehicle. And the first is going to be the base plate and that's gonna be the structural support that's on the frame of the vehicle. And that's gonna allow you to hook up your tow bar and that's gonna be the connecting point between the hitch on the RV and the base plate. That way you can safely tow it down the road. And just like a trailer, you're also gonna have safety cables. more

And there's gonna be a total of five of them. You'll have your base plate, which connects to our truck's frame and allows us to hook our tow bar up to it. more

Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Ford F-150- Video

Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2016 Ford F-150

Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Hopkins Plug and Play Towed Vehicle Wiring Kit on a 2016 Ford F-150. Now, diode wiring is a really nice thing to have if you plan on flat towing quite often, and that's because a lot of other vehicles that you see flat towed, you're gonna see some magnetic lights that are stuck here, and a lot of times you can get wireless ones, but sometimes you have to run a cable all the way to the RV, and diode wiring is just nice, because when you plug in your umbilical, not only can you send 12 volt power through there to a charge line if you want to, but also you're gonna mimic all the turn signals, running lights, and brake lights on the towed vehicle. Now this kit is particularly nice, because this is plug and play. Now most diode wiring that I've seen throughout all the flat tow installations, you're chopping into the factory taillight wiring and splicing in spade connectors on a diode, not this one. This one plugs into the tow package on this F-150, making it super easy to just run your wire up to the front, and you're pretty much ready to go. Obviously, the best part, or the reason you would install diode wiring is because your vehicle pretty much becomes a trailer when you're flat towing it. more

Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit Installation - 2022 Ford F-150

Hey everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Diode Flat Tow Wiring Harness here on a 2022 Ford F-150. So the wiring harness is just one of the many things that we need in order to successfully flat tow our F-150 here. In addition to this, we're gonna need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, and a supplemental braking system. Now what our wiring is gonna do is, simply put, it's gonna transfer these signals from our motor home to our vehicle here so we can let other motorists out in the road know what signals are gonna be making. Keep in mind this is a legal requirement in every state because a lot of the times, your vehicles are actually gonna block the taillights on your motor home. So we need a safe way to communicate those signals to other motorists allowing us to arrive to our destinations safe and sound. more

Ola, neighbors. It's Brad here at "etrailer." And today, we're taking a look and installing the Curt universal wiring system for towed vehicles. Now, this system's gonna be great for when you're flat towing your vehicle to send the signal from your motor coach to the vehicle. Now, this system is going to wire into your taillights and gonna send a signal to the front of the vehicle. And that way, when you hook up to your umbilical on your motor coach, when you turn your turn signals on or use your brake lights or your running lights, it's gonna mimic that on your vehicle. And that's gonna allow the people behind you to know what you're actually doing, whether if you're changing lanes or slowing down, and that's gonna keep you safe and legal. more

These kits are available in a few different combinations depending on the cable that you would want to use for its connection, you can either get a coiled cable, a hybrid coiled to straight cable, a completely straight cable, these are all six bolt connections. There's also a four pole cable available and you can get it with no cable at all. And that's just gonna determine which one is gonna work best for you. It is based on the tow bar you get, whether the tow bar has channels or not. If it does have channels, I'd recommend a straight cable. more

But the problem comes in is we can hook everything up, but we need to have the signals back here, just like a trailer so we can safely and securely get down the road. So if we're driving and we need to change lanes, we can put the blinker on. But as you can see, you might not be able to see the blinker on your motorhome when you're behind the truck. So it's important to have those signals back here as well. Now there is a few different options of how we can get those signals back here. more

Even if you choose to mount anything inside of here, the top of the air dam, there's a plastic guard that will have to be cut. You're not gonna be able to attach to that. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at, and I'm going to show you how to install, the Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit, part number BX8848.What the diode kit's going to do for you, is while your Ford is being flat-towed behind your RV traveling down the road, it's going to allow you to transfer all those signals from your RV into the Ford. When it's finished, you turn on your brake lights, your running lights, your turn signals, all those are going to transfer through to the vehicle while it's being flat-towed.Now the purpose of the diodes, is to protect the factory wiring on the Ford from any back feed from the RV. And vice versa it's going to protect the RV wiring from any back feed from the Ford's wiring. As far as the installation goes, it is a pretty simple installation. You will need a light tester to test the wiring to figure out which wires are your brake wire, and your running lights, and turn signals. Other than that, all you're doing is transferring wires, running a wire from the back to the front.First thing we need to do to start our installation, is we're going to go ahead and get everything out of the package. You're going to get 12 foot of green and brown wire, and you're going to get your 4-pole wire that's going to route to the front of the vehicle. more

You have to take them off every time, fold them up, find some place to store them. Today in 2014 Ford F-150, we will be installing the Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Flexo Wire Coiling Kit, part number RN-15267. Here's what our kit consist of. Most importantly, we have our wire here, our Flexo-Coil, which will connect the 7-way to our RV, and then the 6-pull round to the front of our vehicle that we're towing behind the RV. With this 6-pull round connector here, which we can secure to the front of our vehicle, using this bracket, like so. We have our 4 diodes here, that will allow us to tap in to our factory wiring, and not have to worry about a second control box, or module box. This will allow us to use the factory lights on the vehicle, without causing any damage to electrical system because the diodes will only allow current to pass in one direction, from either the vehicle side itself, to the factory lights while driving the vehicle, or the towed input, from the RV. It'll isolate the system, and still power the factory lights. We also have a roll of 4 pole flat, wiring here, to make our connection from our 6 pole round connector to our dio-packs. more
